COMBI stands for "Communication for Behavioral Impact". COMBI was introduced by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2001 as one of the strategies to address the problem of Dengue in Malaysia. COMBI is a dynamic approach that uses social mobilization and communication strategies to influence individuals, families and communities toward healthy behavior change. The COMBI approach is developed based on theories of behavior change, communication and marketing to address social issues. COMBI is also a comprehensive yet flexible approach to planning, implementing and monitoring social mobilization and communication actions that can be modified and tested according to selected behavioral objectives.
